A picture of the Jubalheirs

The Jubalheirs is a praise and proclamation ministry of the Georgia Baptist Convention. The chorus is made up of female music ministry leaders from churches throughout Georgia. Laverne Melton, at that time a Music Associate in the Church Music Department of the Georgia Baptist Convention, founded the chorus in 1973 and directed the group through 1976. Wade Davis served as director until his retirement in 2000. Kent Jackson became interim director during 2001. Dr. Jon Duncan assumed leadership when he became the Music & Worship Specialist (Director of the Department) for the Georgia Baptist Convention in February, 2002.

The Jubalheirs present concerts throughout Georgia and have participated in major mission projects in the U.S. and abroad. They have proclaimed the message of Christ in New York, North Carolina, Montana, Utah, Toronto, Costa Rico, Germany, Italy and France. Their ministry also has been felt through gifts in Liberia, Peru, Guatemala and the Ukraine. One of their ongoing Georgia projects is a set of scholarships for the Georgia Baptist Summer Music Camps. All love offerings and CD sales support their mission projects.
